in Kontakt

Creating a mono channel in Kontakt is not that difficult. All you need to do is edit the output configuration.

1. Open the output section in Kontakt by clicking the output button on the top. In Kontakt 3 it’s the button with 3 sliders on it.

2. On the ouput section  click “add channel” to create a new channel.

3. click the “conf.” button on the bottom of the mixer channel.

4. In the right hand corner of the new dialog box that comes up there is a little box that says “Audiochannels.” In this box enter 1 to make the channel mono or 2 for stereo. You can also name the channel and select which outputs the channel will use.

5. Click the “ok” button and your done.

To convert a stereo to mono channel just follow steps 3 through 5.

After you set up all your channels, you can save it as your default mixer by clicking the “make default” (Kontakt 3) or “Presets/ Batch Configuration” (Kontakt 4) button. If you are using Kontakt as a plugin and not in stand-alone mode, the changes you make to the mixer won’t be active until the next time you re-initialize the plugin. The plugin tells the host how much outputs it has during initialization.
